my mind thoughts

I'm tossing up between a big blog overhaul make over type shin dig (which realistically I really don't have time for) or actually just saying..."see ya" and posting ".....and they all lived happily after. The End".

Cos honestly blogging just aint doing it for me any more.

I'm not inspired.

Alot of the blogs I read when first starting out have become sad sporadic sites just like mine OR have wiped completely off the the face of blog. So I guess it's just part of the process.
Or it's more of the same old same old.....kinda like a favourite magazine that repeats after a few years.
I hate when that happens to my favourite mags.

I've become really over the word Vintage
and stuff made out of felt.

I'm wanting something new!
What is new?
Whats the next big thing?!?!

Check out some more of my vintage baking I found over the weekend

mmmmmm not pretty.
They were from Boots's 5th Birthday party.
yeah GROSS
do you know what's really bad?

The kids have known they were there all along!

I've read the first couple of pages of this book which everyone tells me is AWESOME, but I'm struggling to get into it. Did anyone else get that at the begining?

The kids went back to school yesterday and I'm so pleased with the classes they have gone into. This year I want to make a conscious effort to meet some other parents. (Which actually for me means getting up early enough to put make up on and get dressed in proper clothes so I can walk to their classrooms).

Since starting the new school I've just sort of hung around the mums I already knew and really made no effort at all to meet new ones, but this year already there are some friendly peeps in the girls classes that I've got talking to and the girls even invited a pair of sisters over this afternoon to play (one in each of their classes totally convenient!) which is awesome because Belle's best friend just left for another city last week.

Belle loves the Bieber.

She just decorated her $200 scooter in $3 I heart JB stickers.
Then Neb needed to borrow it yesterday to go scooting with his friend and I seriously worried for his safety. He managed to ride it with the handle bars facing backwards. And he was quick.

Does anyone want a cat?

or a puppy that keeps chewing everything we own?
Kidding about the free puppy
but not the cat..
How do you talk someone into taking a cat?
we've come to realise 3 animals is 1 too many.

So if you want it I'm offering free postage
to anywhere in the world.

I've started training in photography and have actually taken a few sessions on my own in my job and it's coooooooooool!!
I'm absolutely loving it.
and it's crazy hard work too.
Some kids are awesome to photograph and some are just SO NOT.
Like woah,
I come home and it makes MY kids look angelic,
which is sayin something.

So now I of course want to go and study and learn Photography properly if we ever win lotto, not that I ever buy a ticket, but Gooseman does every now and then, so he said he'll send me and then I can get one of those flash as cameras with the cool lenses etc...
yip
go lotto.

Oh no, don't quit!!!
Too many of my fav *kiwi* bloggers are nowhere to be found these days.
Sorry about the felt. Its just that I don't SEW and felt just WORKS for my gluegun skills.

Ick re the vintage cupcakes. Can't believe any baked goods could last so long?!?!?!

Anyhoo... go for the overhaul, even if it means a new focus. Like PHOTOGRAPHY.
Blog your PHOTOGRAPHY. Cos your instagram pics rock and make me wish i had an iPhone. Probably by the time i get one, Instagram will be so OLD.

Oh and also, stick with Voice on the Wind, it really does come good.

Also, for that writing stuff you want to get into, try joining in with some writing linkies, like Mama Kat's etc. Not every week, but just get the emails with the writing prompts and join in when you can. It's kind of good for inspiration of you're stuck for ideas.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't shut up shop.

**PS now you've got me wondering which blog-camp I fit into... same old same old?? Oh please no???

awwwwww Simoney no I was not even thinking of you when posting this! haha
You (and P.j!) are bloggin superstars and I'll always be reading my special faves :)

I was more thinking of my reader with all the same stuff over and over, blogs that post 2 or 3 times a day, my reader is totally clogged up with those and back when I started it was ACTUAL real people blogs writing ACTUAL interesting funny things now its all pinterest in blog form, ya know?

Stuff I do like but it's just everywhere, and I'm ready to find something more exciting. or something.

Go you and your felt ha:) Xo

These past 8 weeks holiday has shown me I can live without reading blogs, commenting on blogs and writing blogs.
BUT I've met the most amazing people through blogging!
Maybe a change is as good as a holiday??

MY THOUGHTS ON THE BLOGGING EXPERIENCE BECAUSE I AM IN THE SAME EXACT BOAT:

blogs go through phases

we blog because we are either really happy, really sad, really inspired, feeling really funny, feeling suicidal, needing to BE HEARD, searching for concrete validation, losing our minds, discovering who we are...

but seasons change
fashions change
people change
and yes
even blogs change (I think I might be using that as a new blog post title of my own!)

I mean...how many of us keep the same hairstyle for more than three years?
or don't itch to change the color of the walls in the living room from time time?

staying the same is boring
it means no growth
but the question is...

what have we changed into?
what is the direction now?
and really...WHY?
WHY do we blog?
and is it still something we want to share with the entire world. or are we ready to keep our lives as our own?

this is something I am actually praying on, if you can believe that or not
but yeah..the blogging thing...it is just not the same

and I suppose it shouldn't be

my immediate thoughts for YOU, since fixing lives of others is always easier than our own?

photography blog
your new discovery
your new joy
a whole new outlook, one frame at a time

you don't even need to write

just don't take pictures of vintage felt
we are ALL over that

and of course, "and they lived happily ever after"...is lovely too

Hi lovie widge!

GF, I so hear ya... I have gone back and forth on my blog as well. I decided to keep it for me. Just to go to and chat and share if I want to. I don't get into the whole comment just to be nice thingy anymore. I just don't have time for the pressure or the obligation.
You do what works for you, lovie... let me know if you are back on FB ever. I am. Not on all the time, just for family and close friends. It's lost it's savor as well. I got one for my photography business..for networking purposes.

Loves and hugs...

Amy

So get you there Widgey. A blog needs some kind of focus I guess. Mine has gone out the window and I am waiting to see if we have a baby this year (please NOOOOO... did I really write that out loud?)
After that mine field is navigated I want something new. It's in my head but I need this one to finish before I start the next one.
I will miss your cray self though if you give it up. Like big time!
PS SO hear you on the vintage front, and felt front and pinterest posts. Blah.

I get it, I just dont have the blogging mojo at all. I thought maybe a phase but it seems it is a real long phase... maybe when I retire I will come back to weekly updates of my oh so boring life ;p

Pmsl at the vintage baking, that is also something I get ;p My family were just commenting on how they look forward to my baking and reach into the biscuit or muffin containers only to be screamed a "don't eat that, its old" :)

Your photography rocks, Mrs Robinson could be your teacher :)

Yip I'm obsessed with the :) and the ;p

:)

I hope you don't go. I enjoy your honesty and photos and hope to see more, as you learn and develop your photography. Yours is a blog I always read. I'm a vintage loving, felt using crafter, with a little craft blog. Not particulaly exciting, but often inspired by your posts, anyway. Particulaly delighted with your vintage baking! Cx

I am noticing lots of bloggers evaluating their blogging futures at the moment. Maybe its the new year; maybe its the summer and the holidays and spending time outdoors with the family; maybe its that they are moving on to new and more exciting things.

For me, I know that I'll continue blogging while I'm at home with the children but wonder whether I will continue when I return to parttime work. I can totally relate that you may not have the time, energy or inspiration to blog at the moment.

I would miss your humour and honesty if you stopped blogging, but respect that its ultimately your choice what you do (I mean vintage cupcakes- only you!!!).

Maybe its time for another cull of your reading list to make it more manageable...
