haha
Because I write a blog, just like a bizillion other people in the world, but ME, their Mum is famous, which in turn makes them famous too because they essentially are the stars of my blog. When I began to butt in and correct them, they were most disappointed to find out they were protected by different names and were not quite as famous as they thought. All except Belle, who's nickname is used in real life. She took the star card and ran with it.
| In saying that, keep your eyes peeled chch peeps for the next issue of this mag because it features yours truly. (A really scary pic of me and my chins and nostrils I might add) |
Just to change the subject entirely, I have Neb home today, he's booked in for a drastic haircut after finding a bug-thing-could-totally-maybe-have-been-a-nit in his hair last night. I'm taking no chances. And now I'm scratching like a mad woman. He's my only kid that's ever had them, he must have sweet tasting for lice blood or something and my other children thankfully do not.
They give me actual nightmares.
I got my washing machine back just before the weekend. Huge sigh of relief. I will never take a load of washing for granted ever again after not being able to do one in my own home for over 3 weeks. We are all smelling better, we may have lice in our hair (or hopefully not!) but we smell like laundry detergent again and have clean clothing. Yuss.
I baked again this week. I kinda had to because since working I regularly run out of basic essentials like milk and bread because I'm not here to police it and my kids gleefully go through these things just in one afternoon tea time binge. So I made Bran muffins. Yes I felt like a Nana. I've never actually made Bran anything, hence why I had a full unopened packet in the cupboard. These were surprisingly easy, hardly any ingredients AND now that I'm grown up I LIKE Bran Muffins. I can fully appreciate their goodness and benefits like keeping regular and slow releasing energy for a busy workday lunch etc...
My kids, however, do not. All their muffin lunches returned back home untouched even though they were moist and delicious.

Actually I just might do a giveaway on this book one day because it changed my life. For reals. And everyone except my kids think I make a pretty mean muffin.
Righto off to get this kid to the barber for a number 1

Yeah the lice thing. I just did a blitz on my eldests head yesterday. She was literally crawling with them after a weekend sleepover. Yuck!
Mmmm bran muffins! I especially like bran and apple. Yum. Hope the lice thing was a fake-o! My sister in law has four kids and she said one of the worst things to ever happen is nits. And spewing.
I am glad you're famous....isn't it nice to be thought of that way;)
SO GLAD the washer is fixed! Especially in your time of extra need now:)
My head is itchy....
That is so cute that your kids think you're famous! Well, you are known all around the world, right? :) Maybe they're on to something...plus you're in a magazine! Congrats! I love bran muffins:)
Lice advice (!): After my kids got them on holiday last year (I had to try to describe lice in sign language to a non English speaking French pharmacist. I looked like an idiot!) we discovered Hedrin. Put it on, leave in overnight and wash off in the morning. Then once all the lice are gone, use tea tree oil conditioner every time you wash their hair. This deters the lice from coming back. BTW, great blog and those muffins look delish. x
I've done a washing-machine-free stint too -- it makes me aware of how bashfully comfortable I am in the first world. :P
Hahahhahaha i'm going to tell my kids i'm famous anyway lol. Very funny
